According to government experts, the goal of the Center is to improve worker safety at mining enterprises. Its functions will include monitoring of mining air and mining equipment, prevention of dangerous situations through automated forecasting.

To this end, the Center will develop and introduce an integrated coal industry database on the basis of automated telecommunications systems of dispatch and active interfaces with the Unified telecommunication system of monitoring and automated control of mining machines and technological complexes (UTAS).

UTAS was developed in 2012 to improve mine safety. At the moment, the System is actively introduced at Ukrainian mines. UTAS costs 220 million UAH.
