Azarov: Russian loan does not foresee early repayment

Azarov: Russian loan does not foresee early repayment

The terms under which Russia issued a loan to Ukraine do not envisage any early repayments, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said in the Exam for Authorities program on the First National TV Channel on Friday.

"The agreements between the two presidents, and the terms under which we signed this loan, do not envisage any early repayments," Azarov stated.

"We will not do this. We will use this loan as we think best," he said, Interfax-Ukraine informed.

The Prime Minister also said that the credit is granted to Ukraine "on exceptionally favorable" conditions.

"Credit granted to Ukraine on favorable conditions. In these tough economic environments, in which we are, when foreign investors plait ropes out of us and laid an unbelievable interest rate of return, Russia has offered us a loan at 5 percent, which helped us to save the situation and avoid its sharp deterioration and lay good prospects for 2014," Azarov said.
