Full volume of trade with Russia to be resumed in the nearest future

The full volume of trade with Russia could be resumed in the nearest future. Most controversial issues related to trade between Ukraine and Russia might be settled as early as on Tuesday. The inclusion of business representatives in the EU Agreement Advisory Group and establishment of the EU Free Trade Zone will promote Ukrainian business integration into Europe. In this way, the Ukrainian government demonstrates the consistency and effectiveness of its economic policy.

Ukraine and Russia plan to  sign an agreement to remove the majority of trade conflicts in Moscow on Dec. 17. The announcement was made by Prime Minister Mykola Azarov at a meeting with representatives of the industrial sector of the country on Dec. 13. "A trip to Moscow is scheduled for Tuesday, so that we could formalize agreements that remove the vast majority of controversies in trade with the Russian Federation at the level of Presidents,"  said Azarov.

The agreements which are planned to be signed in Moscow eliminate contradictions in customs matters and those with the product standardization. The losses due to the existing trade differences between the two countries have reached 2 billion USD since July 2013.

According to Mykola Azarov, "there are large programs the presidents will negotiate about, ranging from shipbuilding to aerospace, and there are many others."

Equally important for the Ukrainian economy is EU cooperation. The government developed a number of proposals for the EU talks. In particular, the government considers it necessary to include representatives of Ukrainian industry and agrarian sector in the EU negotiation process.
