EP ex-president: Ukrainian opposition not requires government's resignation

Ukrainian opposition leaders do not require the government's resignation to start negotiations with the power on settling the current political crisis. They are willing to accept a partial replacement of the governments members, said ex-president of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek, who yesterday met with Ukrainian opposition in Kyiv.

He noted that Ukrainian opposition is ready to compromise with the government and has no "far-reaching demands". "They do not require total governments resignation, but only a partial change in its composition. There are two basic requirements: punishment for events of last week and release of all people, detained for alleged stirring up conflict near the Presidents Administration," said Buzek, who represents the "European People's Party(ENP) and the Polish ruling party "Civic Platform".

Buzek called these requirements basic for the start of negotiations between the current government and opposition, referring to the opposition's readiness to compromise to emerge from the current crisis.
