Azarov pleased with position of Belarus regarding Ukraine's European integration

Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov is pleased with position of Belarus regarding European aspirations of Ukraine, he said, opening the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, ForUm correspondent reports.

"I want to stress that the talks with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and head of the Council of Ministers Mikhail Myasnikovich were conducted in atmosphere of trust and mutual understanding. The Belarusian leadership essentially supports the deepening of the Ukrainian - Belarusian cooperation and cooperation of Ukraine with the Eurasian space. President Lukashenko clearly stated that he saw no problem in the Association of Ukraine with the EU. Belarus respects and accepts our choice and sees new opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation in it," the Prime Minister noted.

Azarov reminded that Lukashenko set the task to the government to find a compromise in cooperation with Ukraine. "I think this is a strong impetus for a new qualitative level of our relations. We are sincerely grateful to Belarus for its partner position and share it because it is based in the best interests of our peoples," he added.

According to him, Belarus discussed issues of cooperation in the context of the optimal functioning of the FTA with the EU in Ukraine.
