Ukraine hopes to sign Association Agreement till November

Head of the Mission of Ukraine to the EU Kostyantyn Yeliseev hopes that the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement will be signed by November 2013.

"We intend to sign the Agreement no later than November of this year, but we do our best to sign it even before," Yeliseev said in interview.

According to him, the technical procedures relating to the preparation of the document for signing, in particular, translation into 23 official languages of the EU and legal verification of the text of the agreement, are being completed now.

"I hope that all these technical things will be completed in the first quarter of this year," he added.
Yeliseev also rejects that the EU member states come under skeptics and optimists about Ukraine’s European integration.

"All the EU member states support the need for consensus and the signing of the Agreement no later than in November of this year," the ambassador said.

Yeliseev also noted that Ukraine does not face a dilemma: either the Customs Union, or the European Union.

According to him, the country has deliberately chosen the course on European integration and its key goal is to sign the Association Agreement with the EU in 2013.
