Ukraine receives ˆ28 million for energy sector development


The Government of Ukraine has received the second tranche of EU funding to support the energy sector development. 28 million 140 thousand euros were transferred to finance the program "Support to the implementation of the Energy Strategy of Ukraine", the Cabinet’s press service informs.

Financial resources were obtained in accordance with the mechanism of the EU sectoral budget support, providing for gratuitous and irrevocable funding. Within the program, the EU has already transferred 40 million euros to the Ukrainian party.

The next tranche will be directed to the development of Ukraine's energy sector by funding the construction and reconstruction of energy facilities or their certain parts, defined by the Cabinet.
