Blyznyuk: Ukraine will have enough coal for another 400 years


Heating with coal is cheaper than Russian gas, Minister for regional development and housing and communal services Anatoly Blyznyuk told a briefing in the Cabinet, ForUm correspondent reports.

The Minister confirmed that his department supports the initiative of Energy Minister Yuri Boiko to redirect Ukrainian power plants from gas to coal.

According to the Minister, Ukraine has explored coal reserves for another 400 years minimum. "That's why our goal is transfer to coal," Blyznyuk assured.
