President: Ukraine-EU relations are developing constructively

Ukraine-EU relations are developing constructively, President Viktor Yanukovych said in an exclusive interview for the joint project of The New York Times News Service & Syndicate and Segodnya Multimedia – "Ukraine and the World in 2012. Global Agenda," ForUm learned from the presidential press office.

"For the first time in the history of relations with the EU and the European Commission we have made this work synchronous, common. European Council President Herman Van Rompuy and European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso have announced that the negotiations on the Association Agreement and Free Trade Agreement are complete," he said.

According to Viktor Yanukovych, Ukraine has also completed another stage of preparation for the transition "to wholly new visa relations with the EU" and moving towards the introduction of visa-free travel.
