Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Hryschenko has called on the first-year students of the Institute of International Relations at Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University to pay special attention to learning foreign languages.

"Your task is to meet modern challenges, and to do so you need to know several languages at a truly professional level," he said, while speaking at celebratory events to mark the beginning of the academic year at Taras Shevchenko University in Kyiv on Wednesday, Interfax-Ukraine reported.

Hryschenko also asked the institute's director to ensure that students receive a proper assessment of their knowledge of foreign languages.
