Ukraine's PM emphasizes necessity for e-library of textbooks

Prime Minister Mykola Azarov says about the necessity for an electronic library of educational literature.

Azarov noted that in the digital age we have all possibilities to solve problems of access to educational literature. Thus, according to the Head of the Government, the Ministry of Education has posted on its website the electronic version of the first chapters of textbooks for 10th grades.

"I think we have to move faster in this direction and find a way, adhering to legislation concerning copyright protection, to place on the site of the Ministry of Education most complete e-library of textbooks for students of all grades in most common formats", emphasized Azarov.

At the same time, the Prime Minister noted that he has a lot of comments to the official website of the Ministry of Education, in particular, that there is no English version. "This limits access to the education of foreign students in Ukraine", said Mykola Azarov and added that the website should also include a base of higher educational institutions of Ukraine.
