Tihipko: IMF credits more important for Ukraine rather than loans from other states

Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister Serhiy Tihipko says it is more important for Ukraine to raise credits at international finance institutions, namely the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB), rather than from other states, he told the press Friday, according to  UKRINFORM.

"I cannot exclude borrowings on a bilateral basis, be it from Russia or other countries, but I want to underline that it is today more important for Ukraine to continue cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF)," Tihipko said.

The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs added that he was intending to discuss possible terms for arrival of an IMF mission to Ukraine.

Serhiy Tihipko, who polled the third place in the presidential election 2010, accepted President Viktor Yanukovych's proposal to act as the Deputy Prime Minister in the new government.
