Tymoshenko: Democratic coalition was illegally destroyed today

Verkhovna Rada Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn’s announcement of the termination of the democratic coalition was illegal, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has said, according to the official website.

"The democratic coalition was illegally destroyed today in the Verkhovna Rada," she said during a briefing.

She blamed the Lytvyn Bloc and Our Ukraine – People’s Self-Defense for the announcement of the break-up of the coalition.

"I think it’s truly an historic responsibility. Later it will be clearly understood that Ukraine has lost, what Ukraine can’t defend itself from, and what challenges today can’t be stopped, because the last bastion of protection of everything Ukrainian has been destroyed," Yulia Tymoshenko added.
