Central Election Commission states presidential election is valid

The Ukrainian presidential elections are valid, because there are no grounds to say the other, Andriy Mahera, deputy head of the Central Election Commission, told a new briefing at the CEC at midnight.

"I have no impression that the election was invalid," he said, because the violations registered cannot serve as a basis for election failure.
Mahera reminded that the elections may be ruled invalid if both presidential candidates win absolutely equal number of votes, but this possibility is 0.01%, in his words.

The CEC deputy head said the results of processing of 100% of electronic protocols will be known on February 9.

According to the Central Election Commission, reports from 207 of 225 territorial election districts showed that almost 69.13% of electors voted in the run-off.
