Cabinet wants to limit roadside advertising

During today’s meeting, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a bill that would amend certain laws of Ukraine and limit roadside advertising.

"Advertising along the roads impacts drivers and there’s a sad statistic that shows that the number of roadside advertisements distracts drivers and causes accidents," the head of Ukravtodor Vadym Hurzhos said at the Cabinet meeting today.

The bill would ban advertising on roads, near road signs, interchanges, on bridges and overpasses, and areas with a high concentration of accidents.

Advertising should be at least 10 meters from the side of the road, and at least 150 meters from road signs, intersections and railroad crossings.
