Ukraine to provide humanitarian aid to Haiti


Ukraine will provide humanitarian assistance to Haiti. Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko signed a respective decree posted on his official website.

The decree says that with the goal of helping to tackle the consequences of the devastating earthquake in Haiti, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine should immediately ensure that humanitarian aid is provided to the country.

A massive 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck the Caribbean nation of Haiti on January 12. The Red Cross said that up to three million people might be affected by the earthquake and require humanitarian assistance.
