Ukraine to sell arms for Iraq, project worth USD 2.4 billion

Ukraine has signed three contracts on arms delivery for Iraq, which makes nearly a half of the necessary papers. The project worth USD 2.4 billion is the largest one in Ukraine's history, UKRINFORM reported.

“Three contracts with a capacity of 40% of the total sum have been already signed, and the rest are at the final stage of a detailed completion,” says Center for Army Conversion and Disarmament Studies.

Ukraine's acting Finance Minister Ihor Umansky signed a letter with government guarantees to the Iraqi party that the funds received will go solely for creation of the military hardware provided in the contract.

According to Center for Army Conversion and Disarmament Studies, this is the largest project in Ukraine's history involving a range of individual contracts.
