Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2009 opening in Kyiv


An official opening ceremony for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2009 will take place at Kyiv's Ukrainian House on Monday, November 16, according to UKRINFORM.

Participating in the seventh consecutive contest, which will be held for the first time in Ukraine, will be performers from Sweden, Russia, Armenia, Romania, Serbia, Georgia, the Netherlands, Cyprus, Malta, Ukraine, Belgium, Belarus, and the Republic of Macedonia.

The final concert of the Junior Eurovision 2009 will take place at Kyiv's Sports Palace on November 21.

The 12-year-old Ukrainian performer Andranik Aleksanyan will sing a song entitled “Try Topoli, Try Surmy” (“Three Poplars, Three Trumpets”).
