Yushchenko strongly objects church's involvement in election campaigns

President Viktor Yushchenko strongly objects church's involvement in election campaigns, TPresident's press secretary Iryna Vannykova informed the public. According to her, on October 28 Head of the State is scheduled to attend a meeting of the All Ukraine council of churches and religious organizations,NRCU reported .

The meeting is to address urgent topics of the state-church relationship. In particular, the cooperation between the state and religious organizations is to be discussed. The issue is considered important in view of the election campaign that has started in Ukraine and in the context of ensuring citizens' right for free choice.
