Hasids arrive in Uman (Cherkasy region) to celebrate there Jewish New Year

Almost 25,000 hasids have arrived in Uman (Cherkasy region) from across the globe to celebrate there the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, on the grave of their spiritual leader Tsadik Nahman, National radio reported.

The Ukrainian law-enforcement bodies also prepared for the event. Particularly, a separate united team of about 450 servicemen, as well as 15 patrol dogs were additionally sent to Uman. President Viktor Yushchenko congratulated the Ukrainian Jews on the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah.
