Lozinskyi put on Interpol wanted list

The Ukrainian office of Interpol has placed former Parliamentary Deputy Viktor Lozinskyi of the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko faction on the international wanted list, Ukrainian News reported.

Interior Minister Yurii Lutsenko announced this at a press conference.

"Under a resolution from the Prosecutor General's Office to put him on the wanted list, we closed the Ukrainian borders. In several days prosecutors put him on the interstate and international wanted list and the Interpol has issued its red notice on him," Lutsenko said.

Lutsenko said such actions of the law enforcement agencies means Lozinskyi is being searched in the territory of all countries, including Ukraine.

The minister said the Ministry of Interior Affairs already has operational information about Lozinskyi’s possible whereabouts, but he refused to disclose this information.

Lutsenko said he was hoping that Lozinskyi would answer for the crime.

According to information from the press service of the Interior Affairs Ministry, information about Lozinskyi was added to Interpol’s database of people on the international wanted list on July 11.

According to the ministry, this information is available not on the Internet website of Interpol but in its secret information database that is intended for use by law enforcement operatives from various countries.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Ministry of Interior Affairs has offered a reward for information about the whereabouts of Lozinskyi.

The Prosecutor General's Office recently opened a criminal case against Lozinskyi on suspicion of causing the bodily injuries that resulted in the death of Valerii Oliinyk, a resident of a village in Kirovohrad region.

The Verkhovna Rada terminated the parliamentary mandate of Lozinskyi on July 3, after which the Security Service of Ukraine launched a search for him.
