President takes part in celebration of the Millenium of Lithuania

President Victor Yushchenko takes part in celebration the Millennium of Lithuania, taking place today in the capital of Lithuania Vilnius, President's press office reported.

The celebration has begun with the ceremony of flying Lithuanian flag on the square of S. Daukanto and the address of the President of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus.

Among other guests at the ceremony were Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, King Harald V of Norway, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden, President of Iceland Olafur Ragnar Grimsson, Latvian President Valdis Zatlers, President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili, President of Finland Tarja Halonen, legate of Pope Benedict XVI Angelo Sodano, Prime Minister of Estonia Andrus Ansip, other guests.
