By autumn city authorities are planning to reconstruct Kreshchtyk Street in Kyiv. The center is planned to decorate with new flowered beds, elite sorts of chestnuts and fish, the Segodnya newspaper reports.
According to deputy mayor of Kyiv Ihor Dobrutsky, not only Kreshchatyk Street, but also Zankovetskoy and Horodetskoho Streets will be blocked at week-end. A little lake will appear on Horodetskoho Street. Alive carps will live in the lake. “Japan carps koi, algae and lilies will exist there. Sponsors will assist us”, statesman tells, ForUm informs, referring to MIGnews.
One hundred of chestnuts will be planted near Bessarabka. The trees will be the sorts of chestnuts with white and pink flowers. One seedling costs UAH 4,000-6,000. According to Dobrutsky, Passage will become pedestrian zone for always. Authority would like to turn this place into center of cultural life.
Walk of Fame will be opened toward the Independence Day. “We will be choosing singers and actors, who are worthy to have a star on Kreshchatyk Street. On the second Walk of Fame we will immortalize sponsors assisting city hospitals and boarding schools”, deputy mayor of Kyiv told.
“Reconstruction will cost UAH 1 mn. We will take it from fines that are being paid for deforestation”, Ihor Dobrutsky specified.
The bronze frog will appear towards the Independence Day in Kyiv. It is planned to place on Peizazhnaya alley. Author of frog, sculptor Oleg Pynchuk has nearly completed plaster copy of amphibian. The frog will weight 6 tons!
