Putin: Russia does not strive for managing of Ukrainian GTS


Ukraine invited Russia to reconstruct Ukrainian gas transport system. Yulia Tymoshenko said that yesterday at the press conference in Moscow, the ForUm’s correspondent from Moscow informed.

According to Tymoshenko, It will be difficult for Ukraine to provide transit of increased volumes of gas. “We see Russia and Gazprom as partners in modernization of gas transport system,” Tymoshenko said.

PM noted that necessary technical equipment for modernization of Ukraine’s gas transport system is being produced in Russia. Russian side can participate in modernization under condition of investments return.

According to Tymoshenko, if there is not enough equipment in Russia, then other European countries can be involved in reconstruction of GTS.

In turn, Vladimir Putin noted that Russia does not strive to manage the Ukrainian gas transport system.
