Ukraine needs 127 years to repair roads

In order to make total reparation of all Ukrainian roads, under conditions of current financing, it will take at least 127 years. The chairman of the State road service of Ukraine “Ukrautodor” Vadym Gurjos said that yesterday, the ForUm’s correspondent informs.

According to him, for today in order to repair 1 km of road, $1 million is necessary. Taking into account that 75% of roads are necessary to reconstruct totally, the whole amount will make approximately $ 127.5 billion.

“Taking into consideration that about $1 billion is allocated for road reconstruction annually, then it will take 127 years to repair all road net in Ukraine,” he said.

According to Gurjos, the solution of this problem can be found if financing sources are increased and investments are attracted.
