USA ready to give experts on efficient work of gas transportation system - ambassador

U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor states that the USA is ready to give experts to Ukraine engaged in efficient work of a gas transportation system, he said in an interview to the Den newspaper, UKRINFORM reports.

Taylor added that if Ukraine decides to set up any consortium with other countries, Russia, European companies, the USA will also be ready to consult the country on those issues.

Ukraine and the European Union will hold an international conference on modernization of Ukraine's gas transportation system on March 23 in Brussels.

The NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine develops a master-plan of the Ukrainian gas transportation system modernization that will be presented at the international conference on the Ukrainian GTS in Brussels. The matter concerns a list of investment projects for the nearest 5-9 years totaling USD 2.5 billion.

The Ukrainian GTS is made of gas-main pipelines of distribution networks and gas storages. Total length is 283.2 thousand kilometers. The carrying capacity of a system at the input makes up 290 billion cu m a year, at the output - 175 billion cu m.
