Naftogaz drafting plan to modernize Ukraine's gas transportation system


National Joint-Stock Company Naftogaz of Ukraine is drafting a plan to modernize Ukraine's gas transportation system, Deputy Fuel and Energy Minister Serhiy Pavlusha said, UKRINFORM reported. 

He said that the issue concerns a list of investment projects worth USD 2.5 billion that are to be implemented within the next five to eight years. 

Pavlusha also said that this plan would be presented at an international conference on the Ukrainian gas transportation system in Brussels on March 23. 

Ukraine's gas transportation system includes main gas pipelines, gas distribution networks and gas storage facilities. The overall length of Ukrainian pipelines is 283,200 kilometers. 

The annual capacity of the system is 290 billion cubic meters at its entry point, and 175 billion cubic meters at its exit point.
