Ukraine's parliament cut salaries to President and PM


The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has passed a resolution cutting twice the salary to the President, Prime Minister, MPs and other higher officials, ForUm's correspondent reported.

The resolution, which provides for cutting expenses of the state budget of Ukraine in the period of the economic crisis and for the revision of salaries of the President of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada Speaker, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Deputy Prime Ministers, Members of Parliament, National Security and Defense Council members, the Presidential Secretariat and heads of other central bodies of executive power, regional governors and mayors of Kyiv and Sevastopol was supported by 374 out of 423 MPs registered in the session hall.

In particular, the resolution was supported by 151 MP of the Party of Regions faction, 142 of BYuT, 34 of Our Ukraine – People’s Self-Defense, 27 of the Communist party faction and 20 of the Lytvyn’s Bloc.
