Government to consider introducing single agriculture tax

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko has commissioned the profile ministries to study an opportunity for introducing a single agriculture tax, Government portal reported.

“The farmers are ready to pay the same tax, they want to pay even more but they request to make transparent calculation,” the Prime Minister noted.

Tymoshenko also initiates redistribution of expenses of the Stabilization fund and urges to direct additional UAH 200 million to support farmers. Taking into account UAH 26 million, already planned, the sum for backing farmer’s economies will total UAH 226 million. The Head of Government announced during a meeting with farmers.

Yulia Tymoshenko hopes by the end of week the Budget Committee of the Verkhovna Rada will approve a respective decision on redistribution of funds which would significantly facilitate farmer’s economies in the course of spring-field works.

In his turn, president of the Association of Farmers and Private Landowners Ivan Tomych said that a relevant bill is already drafted and draws on the Polish experience. “We want to have a simple, mutually beneficial tax policy long since …We are ready to pay fiscal tax 2.5fold as much but it should be the single tax that regulates relations,” Ivan Tomych stressed.
