Tymoshenko to introduce moratorium on tax increase

Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko initiates a moratorium on the increase of taxes and duties for entrepreneurs for the crisis period. Tymoshenko told journalists after the talks with EC vice president Gunter Verheugen.

“At the nearest sessions the government will consider a draft bill on moratorium on the increase of taxes and duties for small and average business for the crisis period,” Tymoshenko said.

The premier believes that the adoption of this law will stop officials from “correcting the economic situation at the expense of tax increase.”

“By the way, this was our disagreement with the former Finance Minister. We have strategically different positions of approaches,” she added.

As a reminder, Finance Minister Viktor Pinzenyk resigned February 12.
