Tymoshenko sees Ukraine in the European collective system of security and defence

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko would like to see Ukraine a participant of the European collective system of security and defence. The Head of Ukrainian Government declared during a working visit to Munich, Cabinet's press office reported.

In her opinion, the European collective system is a bridge required by the world to strengthen the positions of peace. Yulia Tymoshenko noted that it gives a chance to join the system of collective security and defence for those countries which are not or has not become NATO members yet.

The Head of Ukrainian Government stated that European collective system of security and defence, proposed by Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel and President of France Nicolas Sarkozy, is not an alternative to NATO, this is enhancement of opportunities.
