Government will assist agrarians to hold spring sowing campaign at most


The Government of Ukraine to spare no effort to hold the spring-field works efficiently and timely. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko told a briefing today, Government portal informed.

Yulia Tymoshenko informed that Government to transfer means to the Agrarian Fund, assigned for VAT return to corn traders. According to her, using these means the corn traders can purchase the Agrarian Fund grain, “Both corn crops of the last year and upcoming crops will be purchased,” Yulia Tymoshenko stated. 

The Prime Minister noted, by this means the Agrarian Fund would additionally have 2bn hryvnias of circulating assets. “Now, it is necessary to develop mechanisms and models, how these Agrarian Fund means to be evenly distributed among the regions and agrarians,” Yulia Tymoshenko stressed.  

Moreover, she reminded that agreement with the Kremenchuh petroleum refinery and Ukrgazvydobuvannia company on supplying to the agrarian fund diesel fuel at the price of 4.2 thousand hryvnias per one ton for sowing campaign period had been already achieved. This is much reduced price for agrarians. The agrarians are interested in obtaining diesel fuel at such prices,” Yulia Tymoshenko noted. As the Prime Minister noted, a moderate price with chemical enterprises on supplying to agrarians fertilizers for holding the spring-field works had been also agreed. 

Yulia Tymoshenko also focused attention on the necessity of banks’ stirring up concerning credits extension for AIC, “The banks should extend 3bn hryvnias for agrarians till October 1, 2009. The relevant NBU order exists but, unfortunately, extension is running very slowly”.
