President Viktor Yushchenko wrote a letter to National Bank Chairman Volodymyr Stelmakh, president's press office reported.

In his letter the President informed the Chairman that lately he has been receiving complains of banks’ depositors, who were denied return of their deposits despite expiration of their contracts with the banks.

President Yushchenko warned Chairman Stelmakh that such actions of banks are both unconstitutional and threatening to social stability. “It is necessary to put joint efforts of the regulator and banks into restoration of confidence towards banks’ system,” said President Yushchenko in the letter demanding National Bank Chairman to initiate preparation of list of such banks and apply appropriate measures to prevent the cases.
