Finance Minister states “his letter to Tymoshenko” was a provocation

On January 27 an Internet-media publicized as if a letter of Viktor Pynzenyk to Yulia Tymoshenko, dated January 6, 2009. The letter indicated that Ukraine is living through the biggest crisis since the year 1994.

Finance Minister Viktor Pynzenyk refutes the infirmation and denies he ever wrote a letter of this kind.

“The Finance Minister of Ukraine writes no secret reports to the Government. The fact of yesterday’s publication of a “secret report” in some mass media I regard as a faked-up provocation,” Finance Minister stated today.

Press offices of the Ministry of Finance and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine urge mass media to remove materials about the “secret report” and refrain from provocation publications on this subject.
