Tymoshenko: Ukraine has never had such preferential terms yet

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko believes that Naftogaz and Gazprom have concluded gas contracts of the supplies of Russian natural gas to Ukraine at very advantageous terms. Yulia Tymoshenko declared on live broadcast of the 1+1 TV channe, government portal reportedl.

“I think, Ukraine has never had such preferential terms yet ,” the Head of Government noted.

The Prime Minister stressed, in particular, the Ukraine-Russia agreement on the price for Russian gas supplies to Ukraine is advantageous for our state. She reminded, the Ukrainian consumers would pay on average for gas 228.8 dollars per one thousand cubic meters, “This price is the lowest among all the states purchasing the Gazprom’s gas”.

According to Yulia Tymoshenko, higher prices have even such countries as Moldova and Belarus which have transferred a part of their gas transportation systems to Russia’s property. “And if we speak about our friendly Poland which has absolutely market relations with Gazprom, it has the average annual price amounting to 399 dollars per one thousand cubic meters that is by 74 percent more against Ukraine,” the Head of Ukrainian Government stated.

Moreover, Yulia Tymoshenko stressed that her actions as well as the Government’s actions are constantly subjected to criticism. To her mind, it is connected with upcoming presidential elections, “I know it very well, why the Government and I come in for criticism – because, unfortunately, the pre-term presidential elections have been launched in Ukraine one year prior to their real holding and, it is a pity that Yuschenko and Yanukovych considering me as one of the main rivals at the elections. Everything good the Government and the Premier are doing today – is discredited and mocked”.
