Ukraine names its price for gas

believes that the gas price between $192.6 and $218 (with transit tariff of $2.47) for ths cu m in the first quarter of 2009 is reasonable, Bogdan Sokolovski, president’s representative on energy issue told a briefing Thursday.

“Taking into account the agreements achieved during the meeting between Ukraine’s and Russia’s president in February of the last year, the economically grounded prices for gas is between $192.6 and $218 (with transit tariff of $2.47) for ths cu m in the first quarter of 2009,” Sokolovski said.

As a reminder, Gazprom stated that after Ukraine’s refusal to accept special price of 250 USD it is going to supply gas at the market price of 450 USD.
