Presidential Secretariat has never interfered in monetary policy


Answering questions of journalists, President Victor Yushchenko denied accusations of the Presidential Secretariat of interfering into monetary policy of the state.

“The Presidential Secretariat has never had any influence on formation of monetary policy,” he said, adding that some media's statements about the Secretariat discussing with bankers forced conversion of monetary deposits into national currency were “absolute nonsense”.
