Gas workers start open-ended protest action


The trade union of workers of the gas enterprises has started an open-ended protest action aimed at revision of the tariffs for transportation and supply of gas. More than 40 entreprises are taking part in the action.

“The trade union has already informed the Cabinet that in case of ignoring their demands the enterprises will cease supplying the gas consumers,” the message of the union says.

Participants are holding meetings in front of the Cabinet and Secretariat buildings in Kyiv.

“In every city of Ukraine, where the gas enterprises are located, the workers will support the protest action. The most mass actions are being held in Odesa, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Chernihiv, Vinnitsa, Uzhhorod and Mykolayv,” the message says.

In addition, the trade union informed that 15 gas enterprises have already ceased the work as a warning strike.
