President meets with Emergencies Minister

President Viktor Yushchenko held a meeting today with Minister for Emergencies Volodymyr Shandra and Kerch Mayor Oleh Osadchyi.

At the meeting the high officials discussed dealing with last year’s Kerch Strait disaster consequences. President Yushchenko shared his concerns with the two officials about the pace of removing ecological consequences of the disaster saying that delays in the works may result in “loosing summer holiday season”, as the President's press office reports.

He also suggested creating a special working group to estimate the damages and elaborate a plan of measures to completely restore damaged territories. The President also instructed the Cabinet to discuss the issue.
