President meets with Turkish Parliament Speaker


President Viktor Yushchenko met today with the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Speaker Köksal Toptan.

At the meeting President Yushchenko and Speaker Toptan discussed organization of Turkish President Abdullah Gül’s state visit to Ukraine, development of trade-economic cooperation between the countries, Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine, as the President’s press office reports.

Speaking about bilateral relations between Ukraine and Turkey President Yushchenko stressed that our country considers Turkey a valuable partner and is determined to further develop our bilateral ties, based on friendship and mutual confidence. He also expressed gratitude to Turkish side for constant support of Ukraine’s aspirations to join NATO, especially at NATO Bucharest Summit.
