First power unit stopped on Rivne nuclear power plant

The first power unit of Rivne nuclear power plant was stopped today at 12.10 because of leakage within the containment which didn’t exceed operational limit, according to the press service of NAEK Energoatom.

 

According to the press service, there was no leakage out of hermetic area. The power unit was stopped. The reactor was put into the cold status.

 

Energoatom press service noted that there was no breakage of bounds or safety infringements.

 

Radiation, fire-prevention, ecological status of the Rivne nuclear power plant and the nearby territory hasn’t changed and is within the norms.
