Viktor Yushchenko met with Steven Ballmer


President Viktor Yushchenko has met today with Chief Executive Officer of Microsoft Corporation, Steven A. Ballmer. President's press office reports.

The parties discussed activity of the Microsoft in Ukraine, the recently signed memorandum between the Government of Ukraine and the corporation on cooperation in education and struggle against child labor exploitation, etc.

President Yushchenko noted powerful potential of Ukraine in IT industry and said that Ukrainian side is interested in developing cooperation with the Microsoft. According to him, one of the promising projects would be to establish a software development centre in Ukraine with support from the Microsoft.

Steven Ballmer from his part thanked Ukraine and President Yushchenko personally for rendering support to the Microsoft and promotion of intellectual property rights protection. He also informed that the corporation plans to open an innovational centre at Kyiv Taras Shevchenko University and is interested in contributing to Children’s Hospital of the Future.
