President attended judicial conference

President Viktor Yushchenko attended an international conference “Constitutional Court in a system of state authorities: current issues and ways of their resolution.” President's press office reports.

In his speech the President expressed satisfaction about the Constitutional Court of Ukraine being stable and politics-independent state institution. “We have come through tremendous politicization of this institution, through someone trying to have manual control of it and to bring political corruption into the Constitutional Court. I would like to present my compliments and thank to the judges of the Court, who passed this political and moral examination,” he said.

Speaking about meaning of today’s conference Viktor Yushchenko stressed that it is very relevant as now in Ukraine there is an urgent question of introducing deep changes to the Constitution. He emphasized that he would guarantee transparency of the process of bringing changes to the Basic Law with participation of both: the Parliament and Ukrainian society.
