Ukraine has become full member of WTO


On May 16 Ukraine has become the152nd full member of the World Trade Organization.
 
For 14 years of negotiations Ukraine has come through economic and structural reforms, transformation from administrative-planned to market economy, completed bilateral negotiations with the countries-members of the WTO, adopted more than 50 necessary laws.
 
The protocol on Ukraine’s joining Marrakech agreement on WTO formation was signed in Geneva on February 5, 2008.
 
On April 10 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ratified the protocol on Ukraine’s joining the World Trade Organization.
 
President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko signed the Law of Ukraine “On ratification of the Protocol on Ukraine’s accession to the World Trade Organization” on April 16.
