Ukraine starts new round of negotiations with EU


Ukraine starts new round of negotiations concerning new enhanced agreement between Ukraine and the European Union. Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Kostyantyn Yeliseev stated at the press conference.

As earlier reported, on May 5, 2007 Ukraine and the EU started negotiations on new enhanced agreement which had to replace the agreement on partnership and cooperation, the term of validity of which was finished in the beginning of 2008.

On April 7 President Yushchenko informed that in September it is planned to sign political part of the enhanced agreement between Ukraine and the EU, where for the first time the associated membership of Ukraine in the EU will be fixed.
