President expects gas talks with Russia to be resumed this week


President Viktor Yushchenko expressed assurance that Ukrainian-Russian talks on organization of 2008 gas market would be resumed already this week. He stated at his press conference in Yalta, Crimea. President's press office reports.

According to the President, in his recent phone talks with President Vladimir Putin both leaders reaffirmed all previous agreements remaining invariable. “I would ask Naftogaz of Ukraine, Gazprom, Ukrainian and Russian authorities, who are responsible for this case to make a good use of these agreements in shortest possible time,” President Yushchenko said.
