Lutsenko intends to form new party

Civil movement “People’s Self-Defense” plans to hold Ukrainian conference in late spring where it may announce about formation of new political party. Interior Minister Yuriy Lutsenko said that today in an interview, the ForUm’s correspondent informs.

According to Lutsenko, before holding the conference, he plans to visit all regions of Ukraine.

Lutsenko is convinced that today two-party system prevails in Ukraine: on the one hand – BYuT, on the other – Party of Regions. That’s why there is necessity to form the third powerful political force.

According to Lutsenko, this third force may be formed on base of “People’s Self-Defense”. This third force will be a ground for everybody who believes in ideals of Orange revolution.

At the same time, Lutsenko noted that there will be also place for representatives of Our Ukraine and other democratic forces in this party. “I would like to see “Our Ukrainians” who do not have trace of business interests and betrayal. I would also like to see Vitaliy Klychko in this force. Doors are also opened for those politicians who feel uncomfortable in BYuT or Party of Regions,” Lutsenko said.

Lutsenko assured that in case of formation of the third powerful political force, it will not be an alternative for BYuT or Our Ukraine. We will be partners, but this force is necessary as critic and restrictor of some leader actions which were, are and will be in existing parties.
