President optimistic about Ukraine joining NATO Membership Target Plan


During his press conference in Brussels President Viktor Yushchenko stressed that he is very optimistic about Ukraine’s possible accession to NATO Target Plan at Alliance’s Bucharest Summit. President's press office reports.

According to him, Ukraine still has a lot of work to do so that to join NATO Membership Plan. Yet V. Yushchenko emphisized that he has had a number of bilateral meetings and phone talks with the leaders of Alliance’s key members and is very satisfied with the results. “In last few weeks, I think, we have achieved a good progress,” he said.

President also stressed once more that the decision of Ukraine to join NATO Target Plan does not in any way mean threat for any other party.
