Onishchuk: Chernovetsky can be discharged only by the VRU

Justice Minister Mykola Onishchuk considers that Leonid Chernovetsky can be discharged from Kyiv mayor position only by means of the VRU. He said that today at the Cabinet session, the ForUm’s correspondent informs.

“President cant discharge Kyiv mayor because he is elected to the position of Kyiv chairman of city administration by Kyiv citizens,” he said.

Onishchuk offers to cancel today’s submission to the President with request to discharge Chernovetsky.

At the same time, Onishchuk noted on necessity to appeal to the VRU concerning discharge of Chernovetsky and appointment of early elections of Kyiv mayor and city council. Onishchuk is sure that success can be reached only by early elections.
