Tymoshenko assured Yushchenko in control of gas situation

The government controls the situation on gas market of Ukraine and is able to provide energy security of Ukraine. It is said in a letter of PM Yulia to President Viktor Yushchenko in return to President address to PM concerning gas situation.

In particular, Yulia Tymoshenko noted in the letter that negotiations between Naftogaz Ukraine and Gazprom have not been stopped since early February 2008.

On March 5 due to efforts of the government, gas supplies to Ukraine were totally renewed. While solving the problem Ukraine followed only national interests.

As a reminder, this week Gazprom cut gas supplies to Ukraine by 50% over unpaid debts.

Yesterday Gazprom canceled its restriction of gas supplies to Ukraine. Now gas is supplied in full volume.
